In the current COVID 19 environment, stocking up with essential grocery items has become difficult for many of us. Please browse this listing of resources for both grocery items in the form of community food pantries as well as prepared meal programs. In some cases the supplies can be delivered or arranged for curbside pick-up. Again, with the COVID 19 situation, hours and services are constantly changing to meet the unique demand and safety of everyone, so you may need to check websites for updates and telephone to initiate service. ACTS Family Assistance in Dumfries offers vouchers to the ACTS Thrift Store for household items. Food pantry.


ALIVE, Inc. comprised of over 45 Faith Communities, provides monetary assistance to Alexandria City residents for rent, utilities, medical expenses and other emergency needs.  Operates food pantry and grocery delivery.


ACCA provides furniture items to low-income residents in need in the Annandale and Bailey’s Crossroads area. Food pantry and delivery assistance on a case-by-case basis.


Arcola United Methodist Church runs the Dulles South Food Pantry, a multi-faith food pantry serving families in the Dulles South region.


Arlington Food Assistance Center distributes supplemental groceries to Arlington residents who cannot afford to purchase enough food for themselves.

For AFAC clients who are seniors and people with disabilities, please call Aging & Disability Services Division (2100 Washington Blvd, 4th floor) at 703-228-1700. The elderly and chronically ill should call this number to inquire about home delivery.


Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alexandria offers a food pantry with distributions every Monday and Tuesday from 6:45 pm – 8:00 pm. They have nonperishable food items only. Identification is required.


Britepaths in Fairfax, provides qualified families and individuals emergency food assistance in the form of grocery gift cards, non-perishable emergency food and non-food items.

Centreville United Methodist Church distributes non-perishable food and seasonal produce.


Christ Church has a food pantry on Thursdays starting at 9:00 am.


Christ House in the city of Alexandria has a food pantry that serves a warm meal for 50-65 guests each night of the year.


Church on the Rock Ministries has a food pantry that serves individuals and families in the Dumfries community and surrounding area.


Community of Faith United Methodist Church in Herndon offers a weekly food distribution ministry each Tuesday evening beginning at 5:00 pm. They distribute frozen meats, bakery products and non-perishable items.


Cornerstones, in Reston, has a food pantry that provides fresh food, non-perishable items and personal care items.


Crossroads United Methodist Church distributes non-perishable food and seasonal produce the third Saturday of each month


Culmore United Methodist Church – Charles Street near Bailey's Crossroads hosts a mobile food pantry that distributes fresh produce on the third Wednesday of every month from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm. They also have a daily pantry stocked with beans and rice.


Dar Al-Hijrah in Falls Church operates a food bank that provides fresh, high-quality produce, halal chicken, various types of pita bread, and other non-perishables to anyone in need. Food is pre-packaged and distributed on Thursday mornings.


Divine Mercy Outreach, St. Theresa Parish in Ashburn assists individuals and families who face challenging housing circumstances by providing a variety of emergency assistance.


Located at Arcola United Methodist Church, the Dulles South Food Pantry is a multi-faith food pantry serving families in the Dulles South region


Emmanuel Baptist Church provides food for families in need in the Manassas area.


Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood & Community Services provides referrals for emergency food to community based organizations.


Fairfax FISH provides emergency financial assistance with rent deposits.  It also provides emergency food, perishable and non-perishable, to individuals and families in need.


First Baptist Church of Woodbridge offers monthly food boxes at a reduced cost to help families with their grocery bills.


Floris United Methodist Church distributes non-perishable food and seasonal produce.


Food for Others provides food through warehouse services and neighborhood sites. Individuals and families in need to supplemental food may go to one of 16 northern Virginia neighborhood site locations to pick up food. 


Grace Episcopal Church in Alexandria has a food pantry that provides food staples to needy families and individuals.


Grace Ministries is a collaborative of local United Methodist Churches within Northern Virginia that work together to provide emergency food, clothing, household items, diapers and healthcare information and screenings.


Grace Tabernacle Church in Ashburn has a food bank. Contact the church directly for assistance.


Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas operates the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry that is available Wednesdays from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.


Groveton Baptist Church in Alexandria provides emergency food bags, both perishable and non-perishable.


Guilford Baptist Church in Sterling has a food pantry that distributes food every third Saturday of the month, starting at 9:00 am, or by appointment.


Highview Christian Fellowship Church in Fairfax has a food pantry the second Saturday of every month.


Holy Family Catholic Church’s Food Pantry, in Dale City, is open Monday – Friday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 


House of Mercy in Manassas operates a food pantry Monday through Friday from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, and Wednesday from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm.


James Mott Community Assistance Program, in Fairfax, provides perishable and non-perishable food.


Koinonia Foundation in Alexandria offers financial assistance for utility bills or rent.  Also provides both perishable and non-perishable emergency food.


Lazarus Ministry in Alexandria offers limited financial assistance with utility bills, rent, prescriptions (not narcotics), and clothing. Christ Church also operates the Client Choice Food Pantry.


LINK provides food delivered to homes of clients in the Herndon area, Ashburn and Sterling areas.


Lorton Community Action Center provides new and used furniture and household goods to individuals and families in need. Financial assistance for rent deposits. Food pantry.


Loudoun County Catholic Charities offers meals on Wheels service for seniors and a self-selection food pantry that individuals and families can access once every four weeks. Also known as the Leesburg Food Pantry / St. Lucy Project


Meal Delivery for Qualified Older Recipients


Previously known as Loudoun Interfaith Relief,  it has a food pantry that Loudoun County residents may visit twice per month.


Manassas Baptist Church operates a food pantry on Wednesday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm (call during summer for availability).


Meade Memorial Episcopal Church in Alexandria has a brown bag lunch feeding program.


Meals on Wheels are home delivered meals prepared at the senior center and delivered by volunteers.


Meals on Wheels of Northern Virginia offers home-delivered food service Monday through Friday to Arlington County residents who are homebound or unable to procure or prepare meals for themselves.


Mount Olivet United Methodist Church distributes non-perishable food and seasonal produce the third Saturday of each month to low income individuals and families in need.


Northern Virginia Family Service in Manassas has a food pantry that is available by appointment Monday afternoons, Tuesdays, Wednesday evenings, Thursdays, and Friday mornings


Oakbrook Church in Reston operates a food pantry every Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.


Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Arlington provides limited financial assistance for emergency rent payments, and security deposits. Emergency non-perishable foods.


Reston Bible Church has a food pantry that provides emergency food assistance.


Rising Hope United Methodist Mission Church in Alexandria provides food on an emergency basis to individuals and families in need


Route One Community Kitchen (ROCK) provides a hot lunch at the Alexandria Elks Lodge on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30am to 1:30pm.


Senior Farmer’s Market provides coupons for low-income older adults age 60 or older to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables at participating Arlington farmers’ markets.


Senior Services of Alexandria operates the City of Alexandria Division on Aging and Adult Services’ (DAAS) Meals on Wheels program, and the Senior Services of Alexandria Direct Pay Meals on Wheels program.


Seven Loaves Services feeds people in need regardless of income or place of residence, providing nutritious food, personal supplies and other services to those in Middleburg, VA and the surrounding area.


Share, Inc.’s (McLean, VA) Family Assistance Program provides financial assistance, furniture and household supplies, and emergency food, both perishable and non-perishable.


SHARE is a non-profit that moves healthy groceries at roughly a 50% discount into homes in the DC area through high-volume purchasing and thousands of volunteer hours.


Springfield Church of Christ operates a food pantry every first and 3rd Saturday of each month at 9:00 am.


St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Reston offers a food pantry the 3rd Thursday of each month from 1 - 2 p.m. 


St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Falls Church provides perishable and non-perishable emergency food to individuals and families in need. 


St. Francis House has a food closet for individuals and families who live in Eastern Prince William County.


St. George’s Episcopal Church operates a food pantry for hungry Arlington residents Monday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.


St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg serves a free meal on a first come, first served basis.


St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul Society provides emergency food to individuals and families in need in Fairfax.


St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Annandale provides emergency food assistance to individuals and families in need.


St. Paul's Episcopal Church provides a food pantry on Tuesday mornings, 8:00- 11:30 am (arrive at 7:30 to sign up).


St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Manassas distributes non-perishable food and fresh produce the first Friday of each month.


St. Thomas United Methodist Church operates a food pantry every Saturday morning from 9:00 am – 11:30 am.


Sterling Park Baptist Food Pantry provides food distribution to Ashburn and Sterling residents.


Sterling United Methodist Church distributes non-perishable food and seasonal produce.


Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) assists individuals and families who are unable to purchase sufficient food for themselves.

Yeshua Church of God in Christ in Manassas operates the Bread of Life food pantry operates the second Saturday of every month from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
